GLOBAL CYCLE EVENT

In a world increasingly preoccupied with throwaway materialistic things; where people are constantly busy earning money to pay for those things, or so their children can have those things;
This is the story of my dreams of travelling the world by bicycle. Because it's there. And because I dont want to die without experiencing the truly important things in life .

A sense of wonder and a sense of adventure.

Base Camp " Potters End"

"Potter's End"

Home base for us is our rural property in Nelson at the top of the South Island New Zealand. We've lived here for over 20yrs and have grown quite attached to the place. It's called "Potter's end " because prior to us owning it 'it was a thriving pottery business.

A number of miss matched buildings surrounded by horticultural blocks and lifestylers.

We share Potter's End with Bob and Woo shown.

Bob started out life at Potters End living in the compost heap. I used to cycle up the driveway and past the heap on dark winter nights and catch Bob's kitten eyes in the beam before he high tailed it. His confidence picked up and one cold evening he obviously decided he'd rather live with us than in the heap.

Bob stunk a bit in the early days and his table manners still aren't the best but he's a loyal little fella. We just wish he'd stop bringing his friends in.

Woo also turned up one day and obviously decided not to move on. The temptation of having a constantly full cat biscuit bowl is too much I think. She also seems partial to sunflower seeds.

I don't know how many times we've asked her not to sit under the kitchen table but still she persists.

Woo
Thank goodness she hasn't worked out how to use the cat door yet.
